Breaking News: Frank to Introduce I-Gaming Bill Wednesday

Barney Frank, chairman of the House Financial Services Committee, is to introduce new legislation Wednesday that will “enable Americans to bet online and put an end to an inappropriate interference with their personal freedom,” according to a press release from the committee.



“The new bill would create an exemption to the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGEA) for operators that are licensed and regulated,” the release said. “UIGEA, which was enacted in 2006, restricts the use of the payments system for Americans who seek the freedom to gamble online.”

A press conference in Washington, D.C., has been scheduled for Wednesday at 10 a.m., Eastern Daylight Time.

Congratulations to Justin Bonomo, Caesars Las Vegas WSOP Circuit Champion! ($237,692)

It took just about four hours of play, then Justin ‘Bonomo’ emerged winner of the WSOP Circuit event here at Caesars! It was all worth it in the end for him. Michael “The Grinder” Mizrachi and Bonomo battled back and forth all evening. Multiple times, one of the players would drop below one million chips, but then battle back up to get level or even take back the chip lead. Finally though, Bonomo was able to put together a nice string of wins in big pots to cripple The Grinder and then eventually finish things off in back-to-back hands. Bonomo will take home just under $240,000 for his win.

In addition to the Malta Poker Open [Main event] satellite, on Thursday the 19th March, next week’s schedule includes a €22+2 satellite tournament for a €220 seat in the Prymavera in Poker event taking place at the Portomaso Casino.

Pryma Gaming [Italy] have a schedule of events taking place from the 17th – 22nd March at the Portomaso and are offering a seat through a satellite for our local player community. Make the best of it!

The satellite event will be taking place on Monday the 16th March and will start at 8pm. We recommend that your register early to avoid disappointment.
